Our Board

Meet the dedicated members of the Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective's Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors provides visionary leadership and strategic direction to the CCPC. Comprised of professionals with expertise in conservation, photography, and community engagement, the board ensures the collective remains focused on its mission to inspire and educate through visual storytelling.

John E Marriott

John E. Marriott is one of Canada’s premier professional wildlife photographers, with a career spanning two decades and images published worldwide by National Geographic, BBC Wildlife, Canadian Geographic, McLean's, and Reader’s Digest.  He is an Associate Fellow with the International League of Conservation Photographers, a Canon Ambassador, and the co-founder of the EXPOSED Wildlife Conservancy environmental non-profit.  John has produced eight coffee table books, including The Kootenay Wolves: Five Years Following a Wild Wolf Pack (2022), What Bears Teach Us (2020), Tall Tales, Long Lenses: My Adventures in Photography (2017), The Pipestone Wolves: The Rise and Fall of a Wolf Family (2016), and the international bestseller, Banff & Lake Louise: Images of Banff National Park (2007).  John prides himself on being a conservation photographer known for photographing wilderness scenes and wild, free-roaming animals in their natural habitats.   John currently lives in Canmore, Alberta with his wife Jennifer and his son Porter. 

Ben Wilson

I live in Victoria BC with my partner and my full time job is managing our 6 kids of various ages.  I am also a part time entrepreneur and professional forester.  I (co)own an all electric lawn, yard and landscaping business in Victoria; servicing 300+ customers annually without one drop of fuel burned.  I also consult to a select group of Indigenous clients on professional forestry and land management concerns.

Peter Mather

Peter is a Yukon photographer and filmmaker. Peter specializes in outdoor adventure, wildlife, and wilderness landscape photography. He has spent decades following caribou, bears, wolverines and the people of the North. His photography has been published in National Geographic, Canadian Geographic, the New York Times, and Smithsonian Magazine among others. His photo story on wolverines, won the 3rd place prize in World Press Photo competition, in the Nature Stories category and his work has toured across the world.  Peter is represented by National Geographic Image Collection and Minden Images. He is a Panasonic Lumix global ambassador and a fellow with the International League of Conservation Photographers. He recently produced the internationally awarded documentary, “Kings of the North” which was released in April of 2023.
